Interpreting the slope of a straight line in kinematics graphs with school students

چکیده

Abstract The interdisciplinary nature of knowledge is one the objectives promoted in Colombia, fostering students ability to recognize that curriculum does not work isolation; if complementary, its joint development leads better academic performance. This research oriented towards showing an application mathematical concept slope straight line physics applications, favoring understanding relationships between variables, as occurs with graphs kinematics. A group eleventh grade from a private educational institution filled questionnaire for data collection, based on three situations proposed answer open questions which reasonably justified was required. part correctly interpreted by describing characteristics movement each time interval, but only few were able associate velocity or acceleration function variables mentioned graph, although their argumentation angle elevation line.
